We’re bringing back the much-loved Brown Bag Exchange—a playful way to swap mosaic treasures. Here’s how it works: you bring a lunch-sized paper bag filled with mosaic materials that you’d be thrilled to receive yourself, and in return, you’ll pick up someone else’s mystery bag of goodies. It’s part lucky dip, part gift exchange, and all fun!

Be thoughtful about the materials you select to go in your bag.  You could choose materials that are meaningful, unusual, or simply beautiful—something that might spark another artist’s imagination.

At registration, hand your bag to a volunteer and get your claim ticket. On Saturday at lunchtime, volunteers will arrange all the bags on tables for selection, and you present your claim ticket.   You can eye the bags but not pick them up or touch them. Trust your instincts, choose one, and join the fun as everyone opens their surprises together. It’s a joy to watch the smiles and expressions of delight as new materials are revealed—and connections are made.

Quick guidelines

• Use a lunch-sized paper bag.

• Pack only materials you’d be happy to receive. (Not a place for discards!)

• Approximate value could be between $20-40

• Keep it light enough to travel home in a suitcase.

• Wrap securely so the bag doesn’t tear.

• You can choose to leave a note in the bag with your contact details, or remain anonymous.
