Kim Emerson started creating mosaics for private and public spaces in 1991. Before commencing her career as a visual artist, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History, and a Master of Science degree in Historic Preservation of Architecture. Kim worked for the architectural firm, Milford Wayne Donaldson, now Heritage Architects. Her passion for mosaics began when she volunteered to build a school in Tijuana, Mexico, that was designed by internationally acclaimed artist and visionary, James Hubbell. Renowned for her large public art installations, Kim also creates smaller works, and teaches the best practices in contemporary mosaic art.
